Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification or other assistive technology.
Standard
The website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The page Main results in plain language aims to meet level AAA. It has stronger contrast, larger text, plain language, and tables instead of charts.
What we have done
- All pages can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link.
- Text meets the contrast ratios of WCAG 2.2 AA. Information does not rely on colour alone.
- Pages use headings, landmarks and labelled buttons for screen readers.
- Charts on the results page come with the same data as a table.
- Animation stops when your device is set to reduce motion.
- We test the pages with the automated checker axe-core and by keyboard. Last check: 14 October 2026.
Known limitations
- The Newspaper Game is a visual platform game. It works with a keyboard, but a screen reader cannot follow it. Its content is available as text.
- Interactive maps and charts on the Wikimedia page show details on mouse hover. The same findings are given in the text and in the accessible results.
- The Library 2050 scenarios page is an experimental visual page. Its scenario brief is available as a PDF.
- Some partner logos and older PDF documents come from third parties and may not be fully accessible.
